NAACP Addresses Environmental Justice Issues

"The Crisis" magazine's July/August issue covers environmental justice. This special issue is entitled: "The Fight For Environmental Justice," and states that "In Spite of environmental protective laws, people of color bear the health burden of toxic soil, polluted water and air that is foul and contaminated.

On another front, Martin Luther King III presented testimony today before Chairman Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming to discuss how the impacts of global warming and oil dependence hit hardest on America and the world's most vulnerable communities.
