Hastings and The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation are hosting a panel discussion: Environmental Justice: Identification to Implementation: A Policy Discussion about current Environmental Challenges and the Legacy of Executive Order 12898. Many new environmental challenges are continually identified that disproportionately impact communities of color and lower-income communities. To meet these challenges community organizations and federal agencies will need to collaborate in the implementation of federal environmental justice mandates. In this discussion, panelists will address a number of questions, including: What challenges hinder the implementation of Executive Order 12898? What resources would empower community organizers to assist federal agencies in this effort?
